Analytics Atlas: GIS-Based Tools for Parking, Curb, Mobility, and Access Decisions

Analytics Atlas is Studio Davis’s set of GIS-based scripts, tools, and workflows for making sense of parking, curb, mobility, and access data. It combines mapping, automation, field observations, and dashboard-ready outputs to help communities see what is happening, understand the real problem, and make better decisions.

Analytics Atlas is not data for data’s sake. It is a planning toolset designed for local governments and project teams that need clearer information about how places function. The goal is to turn messy local conditions into maps, metrics, and practical next steps.

A Practical Approach to Planning Data

Cities often have more useful information than they realize. Parking transactions, permit records, enforcement data, curb inventories, GIS layers, field observations, and occupancy counts can all help explain how a district works. The problem is that those data sources are often scattered, inconsistent, or difficult to interpret.

Studio Davis uses Analytics Atlas to organize those inputs into planning intelligence. That may mean cleaning and joining data, mapping conditions block by block, building repeatable scripts, preparing dashboard layers, or creating simple outputs that help staff, elected officials, and stakeholders understand what the data actually means.

Experience Across Diverse Communities

Analytics Atlas grows out of Studio Davis’s broader planning work: parking studies, curb management, transportation access, code updates, and implementation planning. Many communities do not need a massive data platform. They need a clear way to understand the information they already have, fill the most important gaps, and use the results to make better decisions.

Our approach is especially useful for cities that want to move beyond one-time counts and static reports. By combining GIS, scripts, dashboards, and planning judgment, Analytics Atlas can help communities understand patterns over time, compare conditions across places, and connect data to decisions.
